| The Spitz Family of Dogs |
Spitz or primitive type dogs are those whose physical appearance and
personality and behaviours have not changed dramatically since their break
away from the wolves. Primitive types are those whose bodies are very
similar to the wolf and the earliest canine ancestors of the modern dog. Spitz
breeds are those which have the heavier fur and stockier bodies to handle
the harshest of climates, mostly northern breeds.
