Superior Bloodlines and Spectacular Dogs
Howling North Kennels - Home
We are now taking reservation deposits for
Bella and Willow's litter.  They were
whelped on 16 October.  There are three
males and two females.  All have blue eyes
and most are light coloured.
Life at Howling North Kennels
At Howling North Kennels, our puppies are
socialized from the day they are born.   While the
mothers are outside, each puppy is weighed and
their weights are recorded in our whelping book.
They are each given a name so we can keep an
accurate record for each individual.  Puppies are
weighed twice a week until they reach four weeks
of age.  After that, unless the puppy is having
trouble gaining weight, they are weighed once a
week.

As the puppies mature, we test them daily for food
dominance or aggression issues.  If any puppy
shows signs of food aggression, we catch it early
on and hand feed the puppy to help him react better
toward people.  Each puppy is also tested for
dominance using several methods like the
elevation test and the involuntary submission test.

At three to four weeks of age our puppies are
routinely wormed twice in a ten day interval.  They
really begin putting on weight after the wormer is
administered.

At six weeks of age, the puppies receive their first
vaccinations.  We use Duramune 7 in 1 by Fort
Dodge.  This protects our puppies from Distemper,
Leptospirosis (3 strains), Canine Parainfluenza,
Parvovirus, and Canine Hepatis.  Shots are given
again at nine and twelve weeks of age.

Once our puppies have received their first shots,
they are able to go to their new homes.  We offer
both Limited and Unlimited AKC registry.  Only
select puppies will have Unlimited registry offered.

All puppies come with a Health Guarantee and a
Purchase Agreement.  The Purchase Agreement is
a legally binding instrument and must be read
thoroughly, as it outlines your responsibilities as the
new owner of a Howling North puppy
