Howling North Kennels - Similar Breeds
The Alaskan Malamute
The Alaskan Malamute was used thousands of years ago to pull sleds for
both travel and freight.  They were also used in polar expeditions.  They are
used today for freight pulling, in search and rescue, and as companions.
They are friendly and loyal family dogs.  Because of their size, they may not
be the best choice for a family with very young children, but for those who
have older children, these are wonderful friends to grow up with.
